Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to 10 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. Job Description

Data Coordinator is responsible for accurate and timely data entry of Payor members that attributed to Legacy’s active patients. Data Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining accurate database in accordance with departmental policies and procedures as well as collaborating and maintaining current provider data as received from payors to ensure the quality of the network. Initiates database process improvements and assist in utilizing exception reports to improve quality metrics. Performs document-charting functions to meet compliance. Assists with departmental special projects as it relates to Payor Member Panels and Billing.

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Legacy receives member panel lists from its managed care/accountable care/payor organizations (the “Payor(s)”) that lists the Payor members attributed to Legacy by each Payor.
  • Legacy staff in Compliance, Clinical, or Insurance Contracting will, on a quarterly basis but no less than every six (6) months, confirm that the Payor members attributed to Legacy are active patients at Legacy.
  • For Payor members Legacy confirms are not active patients at Legacy, staff in compliance, clinical and/or insurance contracting departments will undertake the process set forth below to remove the Payor members from the Legacy panel.
  • Removing Payor members from Legacy panels – The procedures to remove individuals who are not active patients varies based on the Payor and are set forth below.
  • Self-motivated learner, with positive attitude, sense of optimism, ownership and commitment
  • Properly greet callers, collect and or provide information based on purpose of call and script requirements
  • Conduct outreach calls, and general outbound calling
  • Assist callers/patients as needed to find solutions to questions.
  • Ability to understand basic health care industry terms, e.g. primary care, provider, insurance, benefits, HIPAA
  • Ability to research information using available resources; reference FAQ’s, and other information resources
  • Quick and accurate keyboard typing and navigation with mouse
  • Respond to customer emails and other non-phone inquiries/communications
  • Obtains client information by inquiring about items including, but not limited to household and family size, income, residency, insurance, demographic details, medical status, special needs, etc. and processes data entry, call logging and reporting, all during the same time
  • Confirms patient’s appointments and verifies and documents their required items needed
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, and everyone them communicate with to insure a professional, responsible and courteous interaction.
  • Working knowledge in a MS Windows environment, Email, Online/Electronic Forms, Websites
  • Participates in the Performance Improvement Program
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Clinical office support experience highly preferred.
