Behavioral Health Rep I

Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to >50 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. We also service students within KIPP and YES Prep schools. Legacy is committed to driving healthy change in our communities.

Job Description

Provide support to on-site Behavioral Health providers, including all provider types. Duties include but are not limited to schedule management, vitals/rooming patients, managing referrals to providers, screening news and existing patients with risk assessments, phone communication between providers and patients.

Essential Functions

· Arrange language line interpretation services

· Sort or dispense mail/faxes

· Assist new patients with the registration process by sending VSC and following up on the day of appointment if they have not completed intake forms

· Manage EHR and continuity of care lists

· Manage provider schedules to optimize patient access, including scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling patients as needed.

· Management of waitlist for all Behavioral Health Services to fill open appointment slots.

· Process and follow up on Behavioral Health internal service orders, including psychological testing referrals and Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH).

· Obtain vital signs on patients and enter EHRS in a timely fashion.

· Screen new patients and complete risk assessments as needed.

· Translate for monolingual providers, as needed.

· Attend required mandatory all-staff meetings.

· Completes reminder calls to all unconfirmed patients for scheduled appointments to ensure compliance.

· Process psychological testing prior authorizations to ensure insurance covers visits.

· Answer phones and retrieve any voicemail messages left, send phone notes to the appropriate provider i.e., refill request school requested forms, letters for patients, etc.

· Provide data entry, general office duties, and administrative support for BH at the clinical site

· Complete Prior authorizations for medications as requested by insurance

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses & Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
  • CPR/BLS

Required Years of Experience

  • Three to six months of related experience preferred.
